'The Chair of Havard's nutrition department went on record before a 1973 U.S. Senate Select Committee investigating fad diets: "The Atkins Diet is nonsense... Any book that recommends unlimited amounts of meat, butter, and eggs, as this one does, in my opinion is dangerous. The author who makes the suggestion is guilty of malpractice.
The Atkins diet provides a series of dietary phase, which most people pass through sequentially.
The first 2 weeks of Atkins is “induction” phase. During these 14 days, dieter are cautioned to follow detailed instruction exactly. This phase is make our metabolism can be switched to one that primarily burn fat for energy.
The next phase of the plan, the diet becomes less restrictive and more palatable, by increaing the permitted vegetables and carbohydrate level.
Meat, cheese, eggs and fats (butter and oils) can eat by the Atkins followers without counting calories.
Carbohydrate are restricted to around 20 grams per day in the first phase, a weekly 5 gram incremental gain is followed until the dieter establishes their ‘critical carbohydrate level’ for maintenance. The eliminating foods like cake, potatoes, pasta, pancake and pie ( the food that I like most) from their diets, permanently. Fruit and dairy product are also extremely limited.
That are a little review about Atkiins Diet, and some people are said that the diet is not good because we eat more fruit and dairy product which people known as a healthy fruit, and we can get a lot of vitamin and mineral from fruits and diary product.
But some people can use this way to lose weight, and you must listen to your body what you need, and don’t forget to see your doctor before to start.
